About the Project: New Sales Dashboard

The New Sales Dashboard project aims to analyze sales data and provide actionable insights through well-structured dashboards. These dashboards focus on various key performance indicators (KPIs), profitability trends, customer behavior, and store performance to help stakeholders make data-driven decisions.

Datasets

  1. Customers Table: Contains customer demographics and purchase history, enabling customer segmentation and behavior analysis.

  2. Fact Table: Represents transactional data, including sales figures and timestamps.

  3. Monthly Store Targets: Lists store-specific sales targets to measure performance against goals.

  4. Products Table: Includes product details like category, price, and return rates for profitability analysis.

  5. Sales Persons Table: Captures salesperson performance data, such as sales quotas and revenue contributions.

Dashboard 1: Customer and Product Analysis

  • Insights on Customer Profitability:

    • Gender-based profit comparison.

    • Age group analysis to identify the most profitable customer segments.

  • Profitability Over Time:

    • Trends and month-over-month growth rates to uncover seasonal patterns.

  • Profitability by Weekday:

    • Highlights the most profitable days for optimizing operations.

  • Product Analysis:

    • Identification of top-selling and most profitable products.

    • Analysis of return and refund rates to improve inventory management.

Dashboard 2: Store Performance

  • Store Budget vs Revenue:

    • Compares revenue to targets, highlighting underperforming or overperforming stores.

  • Month-by-Month Analysis:

    • Breaks down revenue variances for financial planning and performance tracking.

Dashboard 3: Revenue and Trends

  • Quarterly Revenue Analysis:

    • Tracks quarterly performance against the average to measure long-term growth.

  • Weekday/Weekend Revenue:

    • Compares revenue patterns to aid staffing and resource allocation.

  • Monthly Revenue vs Target:

    • Monitors monthly goal achievement for short-term adjustments.

What I Did?

  • Gathered and cleaned data from various sources (Excel and CSV files).

  • Built interactive dashboards using Excel features such as pivot tables, slicers, and data visualizations.

  • Performed data transformation and validation to ensure accuracy.

  • Analyzed trends, variances, and key insights across multiple dimensions (time, customer, product, and geography).

What I Learned?
